The Aviation and Career Program of Spray High School went on a field trip to Boise, ID. Accompanied by our Superintendent, Mrs. Lyon, her Husband, and our Aviation Teacher, Ms. Vansickle, to the Jackson Jet Center, a BIG, fancy, privately owned FBO (fixed base operation), where we saw private jets and other aircraft. There were also four old Fighter Jets (WWII & Vietnam) and two P-51 Model Ds. Then we went shopping at a mall in Boise. Later in the afternoon, we ate at the Golden Corral, a buffet restaurant, with lots of desserts!!!! After dinner, we checked into the motel and swam in the pool, as an end to this exhausting and enjoyable day. The next morning, we drove to the Warhawk, a Museum for the History of Military Aviation in the United States of America. There we got an excellent Tour by some Veterans. They told us incredible stories about Fighter Aircraft, from World War 1, until the latest Operations in the Middle East. On the drive back to Spray, we stopped at Caldwell, ID, GA (general aviation) Airport to see an average example of an Airport you can use as a private pilot. This Trip was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about Aviation and the job opportunities aviation offers.
AVIATION IS COOL!!!
